Important Update: Bing Maps Licensing Changes

Written by Catherine Cane | 03-Oct-2024 13:17:59

For Immediate Release

A significant change is coming to the Bing Maps functionality within the iQ software application. The current enterprise mapping platform license, which enables address visualisation through Bing Maps, is being discontinued.

Key Points:

  • Current Situation: Bing Maps integration allows address visualisation in iQ software
  • Change Required: New per-company licensing agreement needed for continued access
  • Action Needed: Companies requiring ongoing Bing Maps access must obtain a new license key. Effective action date: February 2025
  • Cost: £25 per month, billing effective June 2025
  • Implementation: Our support team will assist with new license installation

What This Means for Users

If your company utilises the Bing Maps feature and wishes to maintain access, you'll need to opt in for the new license. For those who don't use or require this functionality, no action is necessary—the service will be automatically discontinued.

Financial Impact

The new licensing fee will be incorporated into existing support contracts. We've negotiated to minimise the financial impact, setting the fee at £25 per month (effective June 2025).

Next Steps

1. Assess your company's need for Bing Maps functionality
2. If required, contact our support team to arrange license installation
3. Prepare for the transition, effective February 2025

Support

Our technical support team stands ready to assist with any questions or concerns regarding this transition. Please don't hesitate to reach out for clarification or assistance with implementing the new license.
