He will replace Sean McEntee who will remain as non-executive director. McEntee was instrumental in driving the strategic direction of Intact over the last number of years and will continue to play a vital role as non-executive director.
Alexander, who served on the board of the IDA for almost 9 years, initially joined the board as non-executive director and has this month assumed the position of chair. Lionel also currently chairs the Institute of Technology Tralee, helping to oversee the consideration and execution of a merge with Cork IT.
Previously a board member of IBEC, and a former Board Member and President of American Chamber of Commerce, Alexander was also Vice President and Managing Director of HP Ireland after spending 18 years in Singapore running HP operations there.
