Intact name Lionel Alexander as new Chairman

Intact, a Dundalk based global innovator of ERP technology and services, has appointed Lionel Alexander as its new non-executive chairman.

He will replace Sean McEntee who will remain as non-executive director. McEntee was instrumental in driving the strategic direction of Intact over the last number of years and will continue to play a vital role as non-executive director.

Alexander, who served on the board of the IDA for almost 9 years, initially joined the board as non-executive director and has this month assumed the position of chair.  Lionel also currently chairs the Institute of Technology Tralee, helping to oversee the consideration and execution of a merge with Cork IT.

Previously a board member of IBEC, and a former Board Member and President of American Chamber of Commerce, Alexander was also Vice President and Managing Director of HP Ireland after spending 18 years in Singapore running HP operations there.

“To have such a technology and business enthusiast like Lionel join our board at this pivotal moment in our growth is very exciting”, notes Intact CEO, Justin Lawless. “Right now, our focus is on bringing our unique flavour and perception of flexible ERP to the global market, and Lionel has both the experience and enthusiasm to help us on this journey”.

As the new chairman of Intact, Alexander reveals “When I met the Intact team, what stood out most was their desire to bring something both new and unique to the world of ERP. I immediately bought into their vision but more importantly, into their mission of making the worlds ERP experience better. ERP is not only a real live tool for growth but the most important tool for growth and digital transformation in any business”

Intact, a Deloitte FAST 50 holder for three consecutive years, continues to grow in both reputation and market share throughout small-large sized distributive trade and merchant enterprises in Ireland, UK, Europe, Australia and New Zealand.

I've been part of the Intact family for 16 rewarding years. After completing my Business Studies degree, I knew Marketing was a field I wanted to pursue. Prior to joining Intact, I primarily worked in the financial sector, focusing on marketing for credit unions. When I started at Intact, I handled all the marketing tasks by myself. Over time, as our team expanded, so did my role. Now, I specialise in crafting compelling content across various platforms, from blogs to video scripts. No two days are the same, and I thrive on the dynamic nature of my role. Whether it's diving into customer case studies or lead campaigns, I'm driven by the positive impact our solutions bring to businesses. In an age where AI plays a significant role, I remain a firm believer in the power of authentic content. When I'm not working, you'll find me enjoying quality time with my family, sewing, or watercolor paintings.
