1992 to 2005
The beginning
1992 marked the formation of Intact by Paul Marry, an accountant, and Aidan Lawless, a programmer. Their vision was to create user-friendly accounting software. In 1999, Intact's Windows version was launched, coinciding with the Y2K and Euro changeover which proved to be a catalyst for growth. By 2004, the first Intact reseller was appointed in Belfast, followed by the addition of five more channel partners across Ireland and the UK, establishing a strong presence in the market.
2006 to 2011
Leading innovators
From 2006 to 2011, Intact embarked on creating a distinctive, adaptable ERP solution. Despite the 2008 recession in Ireland, Intact persisted in advancing its next-generation ERP software. The launch of Intact iQ in 2011 marked a significant milestone. Despite challenging economic conditions, the company's staff increased from 27 in 2008 to 43 by 2013.
2011 to 2018
Intact grows exponentially
From 2011 to 2018, Intact experienced exponential growth highlighted by key milestones. These include the launch of Intact iQ for a 100+ user multi-location site, global distribution rights acquisition across ANZ, CEO and board appointments, substantial revenue increase, UK expansion, and the successful launch of innovative ecommerce and mobile modules. We also see the launch of Intact Xline, our affordable, out of the box business management solution for SMEs. Throughout this period, the company earned a number of prestigious industry awards.
2016 to 2019
Expansion, awards and product extensions
In 2016, Intact acquires a UK partner and opens UK Head office at Hemel Hempstead. Key relationships are forged with BMF, HAI, Retail Excellence and UBT. Intact also wins numerous awards; Deloitte Fast 50, Great Places to Work and ERP HeadToHead Best Vendor.
2020 to 2024
Ventures across the Atlantic
Despite the global pandemic in 2020, the company's growth persisted and in 2021 a further 97 employees were added to the team. In 2022, the acquisition of UK reseller Blue Rock Systems solidified Intact's position as the exclusive distributor of Intact solutions in the UK. The launch of Intact iQ into the USA LBM market in 2023 marked a significant milestone, with the employee count now over 300.
In February 2024, we were thrilled to announce our partnership with Goodbody Capital Partners, securing funding for our strategic global expansion.
